Whitworth University announced that Carol Wendle will receive the Distinguished Community Service Award on April 27. Wendle has served an important role in many local educational and youth-oriented organizations for more than 40 years, including as a board member for Spokane Public Schools, as a founding member of Spokane’s Chase Youth Commission and as a member of Whitworth’s board of trustees and as its vice chair.

The Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance (PNAA) recognized Mike Marzetta, president of Altek Manufacturing, with the Inspire Award at PNAA’s Annual Aerospace Conference in Lynnwood, Washington. The award recognizes Marzetta’s work with schools to cultivate interest and skills leading to aerospace careers with the MINDS-i Robotics program for middle and high school students.

Umpqua Bank has hired Jamie Hudson and Ray Corwin as vice presidents, commercial relationship managers. Hudson was previously with AmericanWest Bank and earned his Master of Business Administration from Gonzaga University. Corwin was previously a vice president for six years at Chase Bank.
Mountain West Bank has promoted Sheri Dickinson from assistant vice president of business development to vice president of business development in its Spokane Valley branch office. Dickinson joined the bank in 2007 and has 18 years of experience in the banking industry.

Eric Finch has been named the chief information technology officer for the city of Spokane. Finch has 12 years of experience operating a firm specializing in technology solutions for large and medium-size organizations and municipalities. Finch also has organizational leadership experience that includes 25 years of active and National Guard duty.

Anna Pietro has joined Hospice of Spokane as a primary care advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP). Pietro has four years of experience as an ARNP and is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Oncology Nursing Society. She holds a Master of Science in nursing from Case Western Reserve University.
