Spokane Renaissance Faire – The Spokane Renaissance Faire will be holding auditions for a volunteer cast to fill roles at the fifth annual Spokane Renaissance Faire “Tournament of the Golden Apple.” Applicants should come prepared with a two-minute monologue. Those who audition will be cast on a strictly volunteer basis. Roles to be cast include noble lords or ladies, knights and squires, merchants, peasants, beggars, gypsies and fairies. Auditions are May 16 at Airway Heights Library, 1213 S. Lundstrom St., and May 17 at Spokane Valley Library, 12004 E. Urban Art Co-op – Felted Vessel Workshop: Come explore the art of wet felting with Abbie Oscarson. Bring your imagination, your hands and a snack. All other materials will be provided. Open Figure Drawing Studio – The session will be uninstructed, and will be ongoing every Sunday, 5-8 p.m. Artists of all skill levels are welcome. You will be drawing the human figure using live models. We will alternate male/female models weekly. These ongoing sessions are open to anyone 18 or older, (using nude models). Northwest Museum of Art & Culture – Pottery Workshop for Beginners with Liz Burroughs: Burroughs will lead participants through the processes of throwing on the potter’s wheel and hand-building, and she’ll demonstrate a variety of decoration techniques. Artisans at Dahmen Barn – Wild Women Art Series – Classes are: Painting on Silk (Sunday), Assemblage (May 17), Knitting Miniature Socks (June 7). Artworks Spokane, Artworks Garland and Artworks CdA – Classes include Chalk Paint demos, technique workshops, including antiqued mirrors, cabinet rehab and painted glass tablescapes/ wallscapes, style and color workshops, including coastal/lakeside/cottage style and modern retro style, embellishments and textures, including wood icing, Pinterest-inspired project workshops and three-day immersion workshops.
