Monday: The University of Idaho has found its replacement for Sekou Wiggs’ spot on the roster. Chris Sarbaugh will transfer to Idaho from the University of San Diego as a graduate transfer.
Sarbaugh, a 2011 Gonzaga Prep graduate, is a 6-foot-3 guard who started eight games last season, averaging 3.2 points per game. Sarbaugh graduated from USD with a degree in business.
“Chris is a dynamic player who has a great feel for the game of basketball,” Idaho coach Don Verlin said. “He also has a knack for penetrating and making plays for his teammates.”
Sarbaugh will join a backcourt competition with returning sophomore Victor Sanders and junior Perrion Callandret vying for playing time at shooting guard.
He played in 34 games his first season with the Toreros, all off the bench, averaging 2.6 points per game.
Sarbaugh walked onto Gonzaga out of high school before heading to North Idaho College for the 2012-13 season in search of regular playing time. He signed with the Toreros in 2013.
