Obituary: Upham, Gordon W. “Gordy”

Age 76

UPHAM, Gordon W. “Gordy” (Age 76) On April 30, 2015, Gordon “Gordy” W. Upham passed peacefully with his family at his side.

Gordon was born February 14, 1939 in Kamiah, Idaho.

He was the oldest son of Emery E. Upham and Aloha J.

(Hutchens) Upham.

Gordon graduated from North Central High School in 1957 and served in the United States Coast Guard from 1958 to 1961; stationed at Grays Harbor Lifeboat Station in Westport, Washington.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia M. (Grah) Upham of almost 56 years, son Wayne Upham of Spokane, daughters Lori Upham of Spokane and Lisa (Upham) Richards and husband John of West Richland, granddaughter Ashlie Norton of Spokane, daughter-in-law Marcy (Houck) Upham of Spokane, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by son, Gordon S. Upham in 2013.

Gordy had a best friend (more brother than friend) in Gary K. For more than forty years, the two worked together, “one-up’d” the other with good natured pranks, and provided a helping hand to the other when needed.

Gary K’s unwavering friendship and loyalty is something Gordy’s family is eternally grateful for.

Out of respect for Gordy’s wishes; no services will be held.
