That’s News to you answers
Here are the answers to this week’s quiz:
1. D. McDonald’s Corp. tweeted a 30-second ad featuring the Hamburglar, his face unseen, flipping burgers in a suburban backyard with his wife and son. When he hears a radio ad for McDonald’s new burgers, he drops his spatula in shock.
2. C. A-Rod passed Willie Mays for fourth on the career home run list.
3. B. Coffee stands with bikini baristas would not be affected. The measure would, however, affect stands that have baristas who wear pasties or see-through clothing and define those establishments as “adult-oriented businesses.” The rule would not affect businesses if their female workers wear “fully opaque covering” over their genitals, breasts or buttocks and male workers wear the same over their genitals and buttocks. Adult-oriented businesses would be required to have a sign warning potential customers that employees may lack clothing.
4. C. Comcast, the Internet and cable television company, hasn’t selected the location but is looking at property in Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake, said Ken Watts, Comcast’s general manager in Spokane, for a new call center. It’s one of three new customer service centers Comcast will open this year. The others are in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Tucson, Arizona. Together, the three facilities will create more than 2,000 jobs. Watts said the Spokane center will handle inbound customer retention and sales calls.
5. A. The long-banned pesticide DDT was hidden beneath a layer of chaff. DDT was widely used in the 1950s and 1960s to control mosquitoes and other insects, which is why it’s still found in sheds and other outbuildings. Since 1988, the state has collected more than 70,000 pounds of prohibited DDT.
