Flash flood warning issued for Whitman County

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for northeastern Whitman County, including Rosalia, Tekoa, Oakesdale, Farmington and Belmot.
The weather service reported that a slow moving thunderstorm is in the area dumping large amounts of rain.
The weather service warned residents to move to higher ground immediately and drivers not to drive through flooded roads.
“Most flood deaths occur in vehicles,” the warning says.
The warning will expire at 7:30 p.m.
