Obituary: Dedera, Jim

DEDERA, Jim Jim Dedera was born April 10, 1936 in Portland, Oregon to James George and Nellie Irene (Fitch) Dedera.

Jim grew up in Garibaldi, OR and gradu-ated from Neah-kah-Nie High school in 1955 then joined the Navy in 1956.

After four years in the service, Jim started working for Sause Brothers Ocean Towing in 1963.

Jim worked for Sause Brothers for 25 years, traveling up and down the Pacific Ocean.

In 1970, Jim married the love of his life, Sandra Ann Calhoun and were able to spend 45 years together.

During their life together, they lived in Gold Beach, OR and raised three boys: Brian, Mike, and Danny.

In 1988, Jim had a stroke that disabled him and forced him into retirement.

In 2002, Jim and Sandra moved to Spokane to be closer to one of their sons for help with his disability.

Jim is survived by his wife Sandra; three sons: Brian (Erica), Mike (Jodi), and Danny (Angie); two brothers: Joe and David; one sister Irma and eight grandchildren who think Grandpa is the best in the world.

Funeral services for Jim will be held at the Central Grange Hall on Bigelow Gulch Rd.

on Thursday, May 21, 2015 starting at 11:00AM.
