Obituary: Cullitan, Evelyn E.

CULLITAN, Evelyn E. Boyd “Bobbie” January 18, 1922~ May 15, 2015 Bobbie, daughter of Alfred and Emily Sefcik Boyd, was born and raised in Chicago.

After beginning dance lessons at age 2Ă‚Ë?, she danced, sang, played saxophone, and modeled professionally from age 3 till age 20.

She then married Kenneth Cullitan, a trumpet player from Chicago.

After WWII, they decided to leave Chicago with their first two children and move West, “maybe to Washington, where the apples grow”.

They settled in Spokane and had four more children.

Bobbie enjoyed raising her children, offered all of them music and dance, and was a gifted home economist—-she kept expense ledgers accurate to the penny for over 60 years!

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ken, sons Reg (age 64), Jimmy (infant) and Randy (age 28), and grandson Skyler (age 16).

She is survived by her special best friend Cecil Nuxoll, daughters Sue (Verne) Thompson and Mary Beth Cullitan, son Peter (Beth) Cullitan, grandchildren Amanda, Candice, Chauncey, Jason, Kenny, Miles, Remelisa, Ryan and Travis, and great-grandchildren Piers and Samantha.

Bobbie’s family thanks all the fine caregivers who were kind and helpful to her in her last three years, especially Frank Skwara, RN.

A memorial service will be Sunday, May 31st, 2015, 1pm, at Gretna Green, 1403 N. Washington St., with reception immediately following.
