Obituary: Moroz, Marcia Lee (Elkins)
Age 62
Marcia passed away at the young age of 62 at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle Washington.
Marcia was born in Seattle, Washington to Albert and Phyllis Elkins on January 18, 1953 and was fortunate to grow up at Priest Lake, Idaho at Elkins Resort.
She spent her childhood waterskiing, swimming and boating at the lake, snowskiing and creating many lifelong friendships.
She then shared the love, beauty and adventures of the lake with her children and family.
Marcia attended Priest Lake Elementary and Priest River High School, graduating as salutatorian of the class of 1971.
In 1972, Marcia married Tony Lamanna, Sr. and they had three children together, Tony Jr., Sara, and Brian, and raised them in Priest River.
While in Priest River, Marcia attended St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, providing the music for Mass for many years.
Marcia worked hard at several different jobs in Priest River, even while attending college.
Her children remember her diligently attending to her homework all while working and being a wonderful mother to them.
In 1990, Marcia married Peter Moroz and they had many fun, faithful years together; they recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on the 1st of September.
Marcia graduated from the University of Idaho in 1993 and worked for the Spokane Regional Health District for more than ten years until the symptoms from her liver disease became too much for her.
Pete lovingly cared for Marcia the last 13 years helping her to have a quality life still full with laughter.
He treated her like his “delicate flower,” although she showed all of us how to be strong while fighting a difficult disease.
Marcia was preceded in death by both of her parents; her father in law Russ Moroz; and aunts and uncles.
Marcia is survived by many family members who love and miss her so much; her husband Pete; her children: Tony and Jinger Lamanna, Sara and Matt Butler, Brian Lamanna and Angie Zampatti; her grandchildren: Bella Lamanna and Emily and Luke Butler; stepmother Sandy Elkins; brother and sister-in-law Brian and Melissa Elkins, brother-in-law Paul Moroz; mother-in-law Tatiana Moroz; her aunt Joan McWilliams and family in Florida; her Seattle cousins; and the Lamanna family who held her dear to their hearts, along with many friends.
Marcia was the sweetest, kindest, lady with a wonderful laugh and will be forever missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 10th at 10:00 am at St. Blanche Catholic Church in Priest Lake Idaho.
A reception will follow at Hill’s Resort.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Marcia’s name to Inland Northwest Honor Flight (608 W. Second Ave, Suite 309, Spokane 99201).
Being an organ donor was important to Marcia and the family would ask that you consider being an organ donor for others as well.
The family is forever grateful to Dr. Fitterer and Dr. Dionne and their staffs, caretaker Gina Dixon, and the University of Washington Medical Center for their care for Marcia during the last 13 years.
