Montana man killed when van hit by train in Bonner County

A Montana man died late Thursday when a train hit his van that was blocking the tracks at the Delay Farms Road railroad crossing off U.S. Highway 95 in Bonner County.

An approaching Burlington Northern Santa Fe train operator saw the van on the tracks but was unable to stop in time, said the Idaho State Police in a press release. Connor L. Henderson, 21, of Billings, Montana, died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
