Prep soccer: Pullman upsets West Valley
Alexa Yadama assisted on both of Anna Mari Petrino’s goals Thursday as Pullman (4-9, 2-7) knocked West Valley out of first place in Great Northern League girls soccer with a 3-2 home win.
The Greyhounds had lost eight consecutive matches against the Eagles (8-4, 7-2).
Alexa Lee and Frankie Schade scored for West Valley.
Elsewhere, Skyler Bastin scored twice and Maddie Bastin added one goal as East Valley (10-2, 8-1) took over first place alone with a 6-0 win over visiting Cheney (2-11, 1-9).
Boys
Bonners Ferry qualified for the state tournament with a 3-1 win over St. Maries in the title match at the Central United Methodist field in Coeur d’Alene. Luca Vomhagen made 13 saves for the Lumberjacks, who will play for a state bid on Saturday in Lewiston.
