People: New James Bond film gets royal OK at premier
The new James Bond flick “Spectre” got a royal seal of approval at its world premiere Monday night.
Fans who lined the red carpet not only got to see Daniel Craig – resplendent in a dark tuxedo and earthy smile – and glamorous co-stars Lea Seydoux and Monica Bellucci, but could also catch a glimpse of Prince William, his wife Kate, and Prince Harry, still sporting a beard.
All eyes were on Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, who was among the last to arrive at the Royal Albert Hall before the film rolled. She chose a light blue Jenny Packham dress for the event.
The two princes wore tuxedos, which have been something of a Bond trademark since the days when Sean Connery played 007 for the first time in “Dr. No” in 1962.
Craig, accompanied by his film star wife Rachel Weisz, patiently posed for dozens of selfies with adoring fans. He told reporters he had “loved every minute” he’s spent as Bond and declined to answer questions about whether he would return for a fifth turn as the sexy, world-saving British agent.
Actress talks about Scientology
Actress Leah Remini is talking about Scientology and Tom Cruise in a new interview with ABC’s “20/20.”
She says in a clip released Monday that “being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself.” The interview is scheduled to air Friday.
Remini was raised as a Scientologist but left the church two years ago. Her memoir, “Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology,” is set for release next month.
Representatives for Cruise and the Church of Scientology did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Stewarts turn farm into sanctuary
The former host of “The Daily Show” and his wife are transforming their New Jersey farm into a sanctuary for neglected animals.
Jon and Tracey Stewart announced their plan Saturday while being honored by the animal advocacy group Farm Sanctuary.
The property in Middletown, New Jersey, will be the fourth sanctuary affiliated with Farm Sanctuary. The organization’s other outposts are in Los Angeles; Orland, California; and Watkins Glen, New York.
Farm Sanctuary was founded in 1986 to combat factory farming and encourage awareness about farm animals.
Jon Stewart ended a 16-year run on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” in August. Tracey Stewart is the author of the book “Do Unto Animals.”
