Woman critically injured in Bigelow Gulch Road crash

A woman was hospitalized with critical injuries after a rollover crash on Bigelow Gulch Road early Monday morning.

The woman was driving eastbound near the intersection with North Palmer Road around 4:30 a.m. when she went off the road on a curve and rolled into a tree, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Deputy Mark Gregory said.

Investigators were on-scene Monday morning reconstructing the crash, but Gregory said alcohol, drugs and speed did not appear to be factors.

He said it was more likely the driver had fallen asleep or had a medical problem, but that the cause was still under investigation.
