Seattle Seahawks land Fred Jackson, waive Robert Turbin
The Seahawks and veteran free-agent running back Fred Jackson agreed to a one-year contract Friday. The team also waived injured running back Robert Turbin, according to league sources. Jackson had 525 rushing yards last season for Buffalo when he battled through a midseason ankle injury while also catching 66 passes for 501 yards. He left Buffalo as the third-leading rusher in franchise history behind Hall of Famers Thurman Thomas and O.J. Simpson. Turbin, a fourth-round draft pick in 2012, suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Seahawks’ third preseason game at San Diego on Aug. 29. Turbin, due to be a free agent at the end of the season, can be claimed by any NFL team within 24 hours. If not, he could revert to injured reserve. – AP
