State to file motion requesting reconsideration of charter school ruling

The Washington State attorney general is filing a motion asking the Washington State Supreme Court to reconsider its controversial ruling declaring state funding of charter schools as unconstitutional.
The motion will be filed on September 24.
A news release said the ruling, “unnecessarily calls into question the constitutionality of a wide range of other state educational programs.”
The release said Attorney General Bob Ferguson discussed the decision with Gov. Jay Inslee this morning. More details about the motion will be announced when the motion is completed.
