Obituary: Vaughan, Joyce Lynn (Scribner)
She was born in Kennewick, WA in the summer of 1964 as the youngest of six children and has resided in Spokane, WA since.
She was married on March 18, 1986 to Glenn Vaughan and has served as a stellar homemaker and stay-at-home mother for him and their four children until her final days.
She often made sure to remind her family that she was a good cook, their favorite aunt, that she wasn’t born yesterday, and that she was who she was, (it’s just a face!).
She did this with a straight face - other than raised eyebrows and a smile in her eyes.
Whenever she learned somebody was expecting, she would begin crocheting a baby blanket immediately.
She was known for her wontons, her cheese-and-broccoli soup, and her deviled eggs.
She was loyal to her children until the end and would wear their troubles as her own.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Vaughan; her four children, Justin, Jodel, Jesse, and Jory Vaughan; her five grandchildren, Julian, Jackson, Jaren, Jaimen, and Jaselynn; her siblings: Joanne Scribner, Janyce Barron, Joseph Scribner, and Jay Scribner; and her beloved chorkie, Johnny Cash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Velma Scribner; her stepmother, Janice Scribner; her sister, Julie Tibbetts; and her nephew, Kirk Williams.
A Memorial Service will be held at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206 on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00am.
