Big Sky roundup: Montana falls at Liberty

Josh Woodrum threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns, Damian King threw a touchdown pass on a trick play, and Liberty (2-1) defeated Montana 31-21 in Lynchburg, Virginia, on Saturday.

Idaho transfer and Coeur d’Alene grad Chad Chalich, playing in his first game for the Grizzlies (1-2), threw a 70-yard touchdown pass to Jamaal Jones. Chalich also ran for a touchdown.

North Dakota State 34, North Dakota 9: The Bison (2-1) held North Dakota (2-1) without a first down for more than 40 minutes and cruised to a victory in Fargo, North Dakota, in the first football game between the rivals in 12 years.

Weber State 32, Sacramento State 14: Jadrian Clark threw for 246 yards and one touchdown to lead the Wildcats (1-2) to a win over the Hornets (1-2) in a nonconference game in Ogden, Utah.

Southern Utah 30, Northern Colorado 3: Ammon Olsen passed for 250 yards and ran for two TDs to lead the Thunderbirds (1-2, 1-0) to a win over the Bears (2-1, 0-1) in Cedar City, Utah.

Northern Iowa 34, Cal Poly 20: Aaron Bailey threw for a touchdown and ran for two more as the Panthers (2-1) topped the Mustangs (1-2) in San Luis Obispo, California.
