Symphony of the Soil: An Important Environmental Warning - The United Nations General Assembly declared 2015 the International Year of Soils with the intent of educating the global community about the importance of soil for human life. Washington State Quilters Quarterly Lecture - Maggie Ball presents “Quilters Without Borders,” her style of cutting and piecing will make it easy to create patterns which appear complex and stunning on Thursday at 1 and 7 p.m. Workshops held at Hampton Inn and include: Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Gateway to Mongolia and Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Bargello Quilts with a Twist. Fall Festival of Homes – Friday through Sept. 27 and Oct. 2-4. Art in Bloom: Flowers and Fibers in Bloom - Friends of the Moore-Turner Heritage Gardens present an art and flower show to benefit the gardens. More than a dozen floral designers create their own art using fiber artwork as inspiration. Come Feed the Buffalo - Through Sept. 27. Visitors learn the farm’s history and bison facts during a slide presentation and Q&A session, as well as the opportunity to meet and greet the herd and hand-feed the buffalo.
