Obituary: Wall, Ernest
He attended Whitworth College where he received a double scholarship in Football/ Baseball and was inducted into Whitworth’s Hall of Fame.
Ernie graduated from Whitworth with a BA in Teaching 1954 and BS in Science 1956.
He married his beloved wife, Mary of 61 years in 1954.
They moved to Inglewood, CA and raised three children, Caryl, David and Keith.
Ernie’s career included travel as a pharmaceutical rep and medical salesman.
He retired in Spokane, WA to be near his children and grandchildren.
He came to faith in God as a young boy and loved serving in the local church.
He served as chairman of the Missions Committee for 10 years at Fourth Memorial Church and taught the Young Married’s Class with Mary.
Many missionaries stayed in their home and countless Chinese students were loved, cared for and brought to Christ.
Ernie loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and school programs.
He is best described as a “man’s man” with a kind and gentle heart.
Ernie lived out his faith and was an example of Christ’s love for others.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Mary, daughter Caryl Altmeyer (Phil), son, Dave Wall (Becky), son, Keith Wall and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Ernie’s life will be September 25, 2015 at 3pm at Fourth Memorial Church, 2000 N. Standard.
