1 Valleyfest Parade tonight; festival 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday; Mirabeau Meadows Park, 13500 E. Mirabeau Parkway, Spokane Valley. The three-day event provides entertainment for the entire family, an opportunity to meet and have fun with neighbors with lots of booths to explore, free entertainment and recognizing talents of area youth. Tonight’s events: 5 p.m., pre-parade rally and cruise with Spokane Hot Rod Association at Ron’s Drive-in; 6:30 p.m., Lions Club Bed Races in front of Appleway Florist; 7:30 p.m., Hearts of Gold Parade beginning at University Road and traveling east on Sprague to Pines Road. 2 Spokane Arena 20th Anniversary 5-8 p.m. today, 720 W. Mallon Ave. Self-guided tours, interactive photo opportunities, chance to throw a football on the Spokane Shock field, prize giveaways and birthday cake. Explore backstage areas including the Spokane Chiefs locker room, Tech World and more. As part of the festivities, “Z Nation” will be filming a scene featuring a hockey team. The show is looking for eager Spokane Chiefs fans to join in on the fun as part of the background crowd. Volunteers should wear Spokane Chiefs gear or hockey fan attire.
