1. National Geographic Live: “Sufferfest: 700 Miles of Pain and Glory”

Climber and filmmaker Cedar Wright summitted 45 rock towers, biked 700 miles through Mexico, Utah and Arizona, and climbed and rappelled more than 12,000 vertical feet of rock. This suffering had a purpose: to support a $40,000 Navajo Solar Project.

3. 2Cellos

Electric and dynamic instrumental duo propelled into international fame in 2011 after their version of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” went viral. Then Croatian cellists Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser hit online gold with their video for a cover of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck.”

4. New York Woodwind Quintet

Among the country’s leading practitioners on their instruments, these musicians form one of the most venerable chamber ensembles for wind instruments. The quintet has been Ensemble in Residence at the Juilliard Conservatory since 1989.

5. “ABBA: The Concert”

A Tribute to ABBA, featuring the Visitors. The group plays the most iconic hits from ABBA, including “Mamma Mia,” “S.O.S.,” “Dancing Queen,” “Money, Money, Money,” “The Winner Takes All,” “Waterloo” and “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.”

6. “Carmina Burana”

Featuring the Spokane Symphony, soloists and the combined voices of the Spokane Symphony Chorale, the Spokane Area Youth Choirs, the Whitworth Choir and EWU’s Symphonic Choir. Excerpts from this dramatic work have been widely used in movies and television commercials throughout the world.

7. Get Lit! presents Garth Stein
