76 Years of Life
Daniel “Danny” Cason Iliff, age 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 8, 2016.
He had been struggling with heart complications for many months.
Danny was born on February 2, 1940 in the Salt Lake City LDS Hospital and was the precious and only child of Orlo Furman and Ruby Cason Iliff.
They lived in Utah for awhile; Orlo was in the tire business.
After a few years in Wyoming, they settled in Twin Falls, Idaho, where Orlo managed a Firestone store.
They built a home while Danny attended school.
During his last year of high school he met a sweet neighbor girl, Dianne Evans, at a church dance.
After dating for a few months, they were married on May 28, 1958.
After moving to Spokane from California in 1970, Danny was in the tire business for a few years before working security at Sacred Heart Hospital for 22 years.
He retired honorably from there in 2004.
He loved to travel, could fix anything and he was truly an organizer!
Dan and Dianne have celebrated 58 years together and were sealed for time and eternity in the Spokane Temple in 2008.
They are the parents of four children, Daniel Cason Jr. (Noreen), Evan Allen (Angie), Alison Lee (Rawni) and Michele Johnson (Randy).
They have eight grandchildren, Jaime (Bryan), Crystal (Josh), Eric, Tony (Emilee), Brian (Kaylin), Zach (Stef) Brenton and nine great-grandchildren.
Loved by many, his mother used to say he was a “tiger with velvet claws” “May God be with you ‘til we meet again!
“
