(Age 85)

Went home to the Lord on April 12, 2016.

He was born in Chambersburg, Pennsyl-vania to Yens and Ruth Schjodt on October 21, 1930.



Yens came to Spokane in the early 1950s where he was stationed with the U.S. Air Force at FAFB.

Here he met his wife, Carol, on a blind date and they married in 1954.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, of 61 years; his four children: Pam (Jim) Hill; Joni (Mark) Alexander; Steve (Lori) Schjodt; and Brian Schjodt, all of Spokane; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, George (Julie) Schjodt of Chambersburg and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evelyn Jones.

He worked for 35+ years as Manager of Operations for Hathaway Meat Co.

He was an extremely hard worker and was known for his great sense of humor and quick wit.

He was an avid sports fan, loved playing golf and watching the Mariners and the Zags.

He especially loved to watch his children and grandchildren’s sporting events and was their biggest fan.

His family was very important to him.



A Memorial Service will be held at Millwood Community Presbyterian Church, 3223 N. Marguerite Rd., on April 22 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Millwood Community Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur, Spokane, WA.
