Associated Press

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Jermaine Jones, Luis Solignac and Kevin Doyle scored and the Colorado Rapids won their third straight game, beating the Seattle Sounders 3-1 on Saturday night.

Doyle capped the scoring in the 86th minute with a toe-punch finish off Dennis Castillo’s cross. Seattle’s Brad Evans was sent off for unsporting behavior following the goal.

Jones gave the Rapids (5-2-1) the lead with a header in the 20th minute on Shkelzen Gashi’s free kick. Solignac finished Dominique Badji’s cross in the 51st minute to make it 2-0.

The Rapids beat Seattle (2-4-1) for the second time in a row and the fourth in 19 meetings. Colorado is one point out of first place in the MLS standings.

The Sounders’ Jordan Morris scored his second professional goal in the 63rd minute to cut it to 2-1. Morris got free of Rapids defender Mekeil Williams and cut the shot back into the far corner.
