Empire signs defensive lineman

The Spokane Empire has signed rookie defensive lineman Rika Levi for the 2017 Indoor Football League season.

Levi (6-foot-2, 335 pounds) played his final two collegiate seasons at Texas Tech after transferring from the College of San Mateo in California. As a Red Raider, Levi saw action in 23 games (11 starts) as had 33 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and half a sack.

“Rika is a talented inside defender with the ability to play nose or on the edge in the IFL,” said Empire coach Adam Shackleford. “He’s a guy you watch on film and is nearly an immovable object against the run. We’re looking forward to seeing him compete in training camp.”
