Area roundup: Idaho gets first women’s soccer win in young season

Megan Good and Josilyn Daggs scored five minutes apart late in the second half to lift host Idaho to a 3-1 win over Grand Canyon in a women’s soccer game in Moscow on Sunday.
The Vandals (1-1) escaped the first half with a 1-1 tie despite playing into a strong wind. Oliva Baggerly scored in the 22nd minute for Idaho. Madison Cox tied it in the 29th minute for Grand Canyon (0-2), cleaning up a loose ball in the box after a corner kick.
Good headed in a rebound in the 74th minute for the winner before Daggs scored her first career goal on a long shot that sailed in the wind over the keeper.
Oregon 2, Gonzaga 1: The Ducks scored two first-half goals and held on to defeat the Bulldogs in the Outrigger Resorts Classic in Waipahu, Hawaii.
Jayne Lydiatt gave the Ducks (1-0-1) the lead just three minutes in and Kyra Fawcett made it 2-0 in the 27th minute.
Lauren Luke got the Bulldogs (1-1-0) into the game with a header 14 minutes into the second half. It was her fifth career goal but first since 2012.
Idaho plays at Gonzaga on Friday.
