Spokane Indians lose fourth straight game, 6-2

HILLSBORO, Ore. – The Hillsboro Hops scored two runs in each of the sixth, seventh and eighth innings and beat Spokane 6-2 on Sunday to send the Indians to their fourth consecutive defeat.

The Indians took a 1-0 lead in the third on Seth Spivey’s ground out after they loaded the bases with three consecutive singles.

The Hops scored two runs with two outs in the sixth inning on Luke Lowery’s double and added two more runs in the seventh on Mark Karaviotis’ double. They added their final runs in the eighth on two RBI singles.

The Indians final run came with two out in the ninth on Preston Scott’s ground-rule double and Stephen Lohr’s RBI single.

Two Hillsboro pitchers held the Indians to six hits and two walks while striking out 11.

Indians starter Alex Daniele (0-5) and relievers Mark Vasquez and Steven Bruce gave up two runs apiece on 10 hits and five walks while fanning 10.
