WSU receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard headed to Purdue
Wed., Dec. 7, 2016

PULLMAN – Sources have confirmed to the Spokesman-Review that Washington State inside wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard is leaving to join Jeff Brohm’s coaching staff at Purdue.
Brohm, who was announced as the new Boilermakers coach earlier this week, was previously the head coack at Western Kentucky, where Shephard coached until he left for WSU last spring.
Shephard has other Indiana roots, having played college football at DePauw, which is located not far from Purdue’s campus.
It is not yet known whether Shephard will continue to coach and recruit for WSU until their Holiday Bowl matchup against Minnesota on Dec. 27. It also remains to be seen whether the Cougars will make an outside hire, as they did when David Yost left the position to become the QB coach at Oregon last year, or if Mike Leach will promote internally, as he did in 2015 when offensive analyst Graham Harrell was elevated to outside receivers coach.
