Riders in the Sky: “King of the Cowboys!”

Spokane Symphony: Tchaikovsky on Dante

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s whirling fantasia was based on a passage in Dante’s “Inferno.” The vividly depicted harsh, unceasing winds of hell fade to a whisper as a solo clarinet launches Francesca’s pathetic tale. Marco Parisotto, guest conductor.
