GRASSMAN, James LeRoy “Roy”

James LeRoy Grassman passed away February 18, 2016.

Roy was born on May 1, 1930, to John and Carrie Grassman in Great Falls, MT.

Roy grew up on the family farm in Power, MT with his five brothers and sisters.

Roy graduated from Power High School and soon after married his “bride” Ellen Marie Nelson on July 29, 1950.

Together they raised three boys and Ellen’s baby brother Bobby.

Moving several times, they landed in Spokane, WA in 1966.

Shortly afterwards he started his business, S & G Electric, with his business partner Wally Sowers.
Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting and his grandchildren.

Roy is survived by his “bride” Ellen of Spokane; sons, Jack (Kathy) of Era Texas, Dan of Spokane, Mark (Colleen) of Spokane and Bobby (Marilyn) Nelson of Yakima; his grandchildren, Carrie, Cory and Leanne; two great-grandchildren, Mystica and Syllina; his siblings, Floyd Grassman, Millie Parker and Jeannie Cearlock.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, John and Carrie Grassman; his brother, John Grassman; sister, Donna Andrews and grandson, Samuel Grassman.

Services will be held at Community Cremation and Funeral, 13127 E. Sprague, on February 26th, at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests to make a donation to a charity in Roy’s name.
