Twila W. Palmer was born in Maddock, North Dakota, the only child of Joseph and Amanda Watterud.
She was raised on a farm near Esmond, North Dakota, and attended public schools in that area.
She graduated from North Dakota Agricultural College (now NDSU) in 1952 with a degree in Home Economics.
Twila worked as a County Extension Agent and high school teacher for several years and married Dwight Palmer on June 19th, 1954.
Over the next few years daughters Carla and Margo, as well as son, Jay, were born.
She earned an M.S.
in Vocational Technical Education from Washington State University in 1979 and was part owner of a sewing machine shop.
Twila and Dwight traveled extensively and retired in Spokane, Washington.
She was an excellent seamstress and a good friend to many.
Twila is survived by her husband, Dwight, daughters Carla (Bill), and Margo (Steve), and son, Jay (Wendy).
She was MorMor to her grandchildren Kyle (Kellie), Janelle, Blair (Jessie), Reed (Daniel), Leah (Mike), Luke, Anna, Dawson, and great-granddaughter, Lyla.
Visitation will be from 9-12 Friday, March 4th, at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division, Spokane, WA.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 6th, at 2:00 at Central Lutheran Church, 512 S. Bernard, Spokane, WA 99224.
Memorials may be given to Central Lutheran Church.
