50-plus women’s hockey team plans jamboree

The Silver Skaters, Spokane’s 50-plus women’s hockey team, is having a jamboree with skaters from the Northwest and Canada on Saturday and Sunday at the Eagles Ice-A-Rena, 6321 N. Addison St.

This is the second year for the jamboree that stars women older than 50, including some in their 70s who love the finesse of hockey and the camaraderie. The public is invited.

There are nine out-of-town skaters and 14 local skaters participating in three games. The first game Saturday starts at 12:30 p.m. followed by another game at 4:15 p.m. The Sunday game starts at 9:30 a.m.

The Silver Skaters are a division of Spokane Women’s Hockey League.
