Hurricanes blow past Chiefs
LETHBRIDGE, Alberta – Brayden Burke scored a pair of third-period goals and finished with a hat trick to power the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 4-0 victory over the visiting Spokane Chiefs in Western Hockey League play on Wednesday.
Burke staked the Hurricanes (34-12-0-0, league-leading 68 points) to a 1-0 lead with a score at the 6:06 mark of the first period. Giorgio Estephan stretched the lead to 2-0 with a short-handed goal 91 seconds into the final period. Burke wrapped up the victory with goals – his 16th and 17th of the season – at 7:25 and 12:58.
It was the first time Lethbridge beat Spokane (20-19-3-2, 45 points) since 2011.
