5. Author Manuel Gonzales 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Gonzaga University, Cataldo Hall Globe Room, 502 E. Boone Ave. Part of the Gonzaga University Visiting Writers Series. Gonzales, a professor at the University of Kentucky, is the author of “The Miniature Wife and Other Stories” and the forthcoming novel “The Regional Office is Under Attack!” He is the recipient of the Academy of Arts and Letters’ Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction and the Binghamton University John Gardner Prize for Fiction. Gonzales also ran a nonprofit center that provided tutoring and writing help for children, in addition to co-owning the Clarksville Pie Company in Austin, Texas, where he baked pies for a living.
