An injured hiker is transported over a rocky outcropping in the Dishman Hills Natural Area, Thursday, June, 2, 2016. About 9 a.m., the 26-year-old hiker fell approximately 30 feet down a rocky slope in the East Pond area, injuring his leg and back. He was trapped between a tree and a boulder. He used a cellphone to call for help and guide the Spokane Valley Fire Department technical rescue team to his location. Rescuers had to cut 20 feet of trail through the undergrowth to remove the man, who was transported to a local hospital. (Jesse Tinsley / The Spokesman-Review)
