Coeur d’Alene cyclist died in crash near Spokane River, police say
A man found dead near the Spokane River in Coeur d’Alene apparently died from a bicycle crash, police said Thursday.
Ronald Scott Winkler, 74, of Coeur d’Alene, was found dead around noon Tuesday along the Centennial Trail west of the U.S. Highway 95 Bridge, the Coeur d’Alene Police Department said.
Winkler had been riding his bike and appears to have died from injuries after he crashed, said police spokesman Detective Jared Reneau.
