Stream on Demand: Remembering Ali

Remember the legacy of Muhammad Ali with the documentaries I Am Ali (2014, PG) on Netflix, the 1970 documentary A.K.A. Cassius Clay on Amazon Prime (PG), and Facing Ali (2009, R) featuring interviews with ten of his greatest opponents, on VOD on Amazon Video and iTunes.

Zootopia,” Disney’s animated comedy about a bunny cop (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and a conniving fox partner (Jason Bateman) hopped its way to becoming one of the biggest hits of 2016. PG. Also on DVD and Blu-ray and at Redbox.

Hail, Caesar! the Coen brothers’s sly yet affectionate satire of 1950s Hollywood, stars Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum and Tilda Swinton. PG-13.

Also new: the true-life military drama 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi from Michael Bay (R; and on disc) and the romantic drama Touched with Fire with Katie Holmes (R).

Fathers and Daughters,” with Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried, debuts weeks before theaters. Available same day as select theaters nationwide is Cell,” a Stephen King adaptation with John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson. Both rated R.

Love & Mercy (2015), a touching true-life drama about Beach Boys songwriter Brian Wilson (played by Paul Dano and John Cusack), explores his creative life and his struggle with depression. PG-13. Also on Hulu.

Also new: the smart geopolitical thriller Syriana (2005) with Matt Damon and George Clooney and the Holocaust survivor drama Remember (2015) with Christopher Plummer. Both R.

Kid stuff: Lego Ninjago: Season 1 presents interlocking ninjas.

Bill Murray is an aging rock manager promoting a teenage girl from Kabul in the comedy Rock the Kasbah (2015, R).

New documentaries: Janis: Little Girl Blue (2015) profiles Janis Joplin, and Tab Hunter Confidential (2015) profiles the teen heartthrob turned cult icon. Not rated.

Also new: the melancholy and whimsical Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004, R) with Jim Carrey and Oscar winners Traffic (2000, R) and The Bridge on the River Kwai (1959, not rated).

The British gangster drama Peaky Blinders: Season 3” debuts in the U.S. exclusively on Netflix, and for kids it presents the animated Voltron: Legendary Defender: Season 1.”

Hulu’s Golden Globe-nominated comedy Casual returns for a second season. New episodes debut every Wednesday.

HBO Now

Matt Damon won a Golden Globe award as an American botanist left behind on a Mars mission in The Martian (2015), a smart, sturdy science fiction drama built on actual science. PG-13.
