Ike Davis and the New York Yankees have finalized a one-year contract, giving the team more options after putting four first basemen on the disabled list.

Davis gets paid at the rate of a $1.5 million salary while in the major leagues and at the rate of a $120,000 salary while in the minors, according to the deal reached Monday. With 112 days remaining in the regular season, his prorated major league salary is $918,033.

Davis hit .268 with four home runs and 25 RBIs for Triple-A Round Rock, then was released Sunday.

The 29-year-old played for Oakland last season, hitting .229 with three home runs and 20 RBIs. He had 32 homers for the New York Mets in 2012.

Chris Parmelee was the latest Yankees first baseman to go on the DL, joining Mark Teixeira, Dustin Ackley and Greg Bird.

Hospital clears Collins

Mets manager Terry Collins has been cleared to leave a Milwaukee hospital and planned to return to New York and be back in the dugout for Tuesday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The 67-year-old Collins, the oldest manager in the major leagues, felt sick before Sunday’s game against the Brewers and was held overnight at Froedtert Hospital in nearby Wauwatosa.

New York said Monday that Collins was examined by Dr. Brian-Fred Fitzsimmons, that tests were negative, and that he had been cleared to fly home.

Darvish back on DL

Yu Darvish has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder discomfort after making only three starts for the Texas Rangers in his return from major elbow surgery.

Darvish underwent an MRI in Texas and while the MRI showed no structural issues, the right-hander from Japan is still bothered by discomfort in his pitching shoulder. The team said he will receive treatment until he is ready to begin throwing again.

Clearing the bases

Left-hander Eric O’Flaherty has been put on the 15-day disabled list by the Atlanta Braves because of a right knee strain. O’Flaherty, a former reliever for the Seattle Mariners, is 1-3 with a 6.52 earmed-run average in 27 games. He allowed three runs in two innings against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. … Texas Rangers catcher Melvin Novoa has been suspended for 56 games under baseball’s minor league drug program following a positive test for the banned performance-enhancing substance Clostebol. In addition, Boston Red Sox catcher Jhon Nunez has been suspended 25 games, the commissioner’s office said Monday. A 25-game suspension is the penalty for a first violation for use or possession of a syringe at a team facility, in team-provided housing or while traveling with a club.
