Gov. Inslee appoints McMillan as EWU student representative
Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Ariel McMillan as the student representative to the Eastern Washington University board of trustees.
Her one-year term starts July 1.
McMillan earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies this month, and will start EWU’s Master of Science in Communications program this fall. She graduated from East Valley High School.
“My goal of being a part of this governing board is to provide a good ear for all students and to foster communication efforts by the school to improve student success,” McMillan said in a news release.
EWU’s Board of Trustees is the university’s governing body appointed by the governor. The board works with EWU President Mary Cullinan to set the strategic direction of the university and helps to ensure that EWU is academically and financially accountable and successful.
