1. “Leftovers III” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Stage Left, 108 W. Third Ave. What is a 24-hour play festival? On Friday night, playwrights are matched with directors and a cast. They are given an object they must incorporate into their plays. They write all night and turn in their plays by the next morning. The plays must then be rehearsed, memorized and costumed in one day. For an added twist this year, all of playwrights are women: Molly Allen, Mischa Jakupcak, Hazel Bean, Olivia Dugan, Gail Cory-Betz. 2. Cary Hays iHeartRadio Launch Party 8 p.m. Friday, the Pin, 412 W. Sprague Ave. Spokane-based hip-hop artist Cary Hays celebrates the release of his single “Extras” on more than 95 international digital platforms. 3. 21st Annual Blues Cats for Kids 1-9 p.m. Saturday, Spokane Valley Eagles, 16801 E. Sprague Ave., Spokane Valley. Presented by the Inland Empire Blues Society. 4. Wieners on Parade 10 a.m. Saturday, Spokane Arena parking lot, 720 W. Mallon Ave. The Dachshund Resue NW’s annual St. Patty’s Day party. Wiener dog owners are invited to dress themselves and their dogs in green and join in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade which begin at noon from the arena. 5. Stone Soul 6 p.m. Saturday, Palomino Club, 6425 N. 6. Spokane Silent Reading Party 7 p.m. Thursday, Spark Center, 1214 W. Summit Parkway. Calling all introverts, bookworms and bibliomaniacs. Bring a book or an eReader and prepare to zip your lips as you delve into the magic of words. Guitarist John Paul Shields will accompany the silence with classical guitar. This is a rare opportunity to engage in undistracted reading while also partaking in a supportive literary community. Wine and coffee will be available. 7. Author Amy Leach 7 p.m. Thursday, Whitworth University, Hixon Union Building Multipurpose Room, 300 W. Hawthorne Road. Her work has been published in A Public Space, Tin House, Orion, the Los Angeles Review and other venues. She has won the Whiting Writers’ Award, a Rona Jaffe Foundation Award and a Pushcart Prize. 9. “Enchanted April” 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Whitworth University, Cowles Auditorium, 300 W. Hawthorne Road. The play tells the story of two unhappy London housewives who, feeling lost in the shadows of marriage and post-WWI society, rent a villa in Italy for a holiday away. 10. Inland Northwest Motorcycle Show and Sale 3-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Spokane County Fair and Expo Center, 404 N.
