Glenmar Munier Childers was born February 4, 1918, in Wallace, Idaho, an only child to Anna Ellingson Munier and Edward Munier.
She graduated as Salutatorian from Wallace High School in 1935 and moved to Spokane to attend Kinman Business University.
Glenmar was employed by Merrill Lynch until 1940 when she went to work for the Spokane and Eastern Branch of the Seattle-First National Bank.
In 1965 Glenmar Munier was named a trust officer, thus becoming the first woman bank officer in Spokane.
In 1976 Glenmar married John Childers and together they enjoyed winters in Palm Springs and summers by their backyard pool, which they graciously made available to neighborhood children.
John died in 1989 and Glenmar moved to Rockwood South Retirement Community where she lived until her death on April 23, 2016.
Glenmar was an avid golfer who scored a hole in one at Manito Country Club.
She enjoyed baseball and loved watching the Mariners games on TV.
She was a formidable bridge player and maintained a lifelong interest in finance and investing.
She volunteered at the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop and served as treasurer of the Service League at St. John ‘s Cathedral, where she was a devoted member.
Glenmar was a grateful recipient of the fine care at Rockwood South Atrium.
She will be fondly remembered by her many friends and her Overbluff neighbors, most especially the Hinnen family.
