1. Portugal. The Man

Wasilla, Alaska’s second-most famous export, Portugal. The Man is bringing its indie rock sound to North America this fall. With guest Boone Howard.

3. Celtic Thunder

Formed in Dublin in 2007, Celtic Thunder mixes song, dance and staging in a show that celebrates traditional and contemporary Irish music.

4. Spokane Symphony & Wylie and the Wild West

Spokane Symphony SuperPops 2 concert. Wylie Gustafson, singer, songwriter, rancher, horseman and the world-famous Yahoo yodeler, leads the musical outfit known as Wylie & the Wild West. They’ll perform a set at the Fox as the symphony tackles famous Western themes, including Elmer Bernstein’s “The Magnificent Seven” Suite, Dimitri Tiomkin’s arrangement of “Rawhide,” John Williams’ “The Cowboys” Overture and pieces from Aaron Copland’s “Rodeo.” Morihiko Nakahara conducts.

5. Winter Jam 2016 Tour Spectacular

Christian music’s largest annual tour; headlined by singer/songwriters Matthew West and Crowder. Also features Britt Nicole, RED, Mandisa, NewSong, KB/Tedashii and evangelist Tony Nolan. In addition, the Pre-Jam Party is slated to showcase OBB, Sarah Reeves and Steven Malcolm.

6. Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band

Grammy-winning pianist/saxophonist/bandleader Gordon Goodwin and his 18-piece Big Phat Band have bucked the mainstream for 15 years. Although they emerged during the neo-swing wave of the late 1990s, they have outlasted just about every big band from that period, built a consistent and loyal following and scored three Grammy Awards.

7. Reading for the Library

Featuring Washington Book Award winner for fiction Sharma Shields, author of “The Sasquatch Hunter’s Almanac.” Sponsored by the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Foundation. This fundraising event includes dinner and dessert.
