Eagles to host four games this week

From staff and wire reports

Eastern Washington basketball is home for the holiday.

The Eagles will be at Reese Court for four Thanksgiving week games in the next seven days, beginning with Monday night’s game against Bryant.

That game, which tips off at 6:05 p.m., is part of a subregional round of the Legends Classic. Earlier in the afternoon, Seattle will play Louisiana Monroe.

The winners and losers will play Tuesday, with Eastern playing in the 6:06 p.m. nightcap, no matter what happens on Monday.

The Eagles (1-2) are coming off road losses at Northwestern (86-72) and No. 21 Texas (85-52). Junior forward Bogdan Bliznyuk scored a combined 47 points, while senior graduate transfer Jacob Wiley had 29.

Bryant was 8-23 last year and is coming off a 109-70 loss at Gonzaga on Thursday. The Bulldogs (1-2) beat Salve Regina 88-61 but lost to Notre Dame 89-64.

Eastern hosts the EWU Classic this weekend. The Eagles will play Denver on Saturday and San Francisco on Sunday. Tipoff for both games is 6:05 p.m.

San Francisco lost in the first round of the WCC Tournament last season to Pepperdine, which fell to Eastern 79-72 in the first round of the CBI. The Eagles beat the Dons for the second straight year in San Francisco last season, winning 81-77.
