Area roundup: No. 25 Washington State volleyball outlasts USC in five sets
Kyra Holt had 18 kills with 12 digs and five blocks and No. 25 Washington State (21-10, 11-8 Pac-12) outlasted USC (18-12, 10-9) in five sets (17-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-25, 15-8) in Pullman on Wednesday.
Nicole Rigoni had 23 assists and Haley MacDonald added 17 assists and 10 digs, while Taylor Mims and Claire Martin had seven blocks apiece.
The Cougars finish the regular season on Saturday with a home match against rival Washington. WSU took the first match 3-1 on Sept. 21.
Washington 3, UCLA 1: Courtney Schwann had 27 kills to help the No. 7 Huskies (25-4, 15-4) knock off the No. 8 Bruins (23-6, 14-5) 25-11, 22-25, 25-22, 25-15 in Seattle.
Bailey Tanner had 51 assists in the four-game match. Tia Scambray added 13 kills and 10 digs, while Crissy Jones had 11 kills, 19 digs and five blocks. Freshman Avie Niece added seven blocks for the Huskies.
