Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office seeks tips on Skitwish warming hut fire

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious fire that burned down the Skitwish warming hut near Marie Saddle.

The fire occurred sometime between 6:30 p.m. Nov. 19 and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 22, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Witnesses reported seeing a red or maroon 1990’s Ford Ranger or similar pickup leaving the area quickly with two people inside.
