MONDAY: “Friends” alum Matt LeBlanc returns to network television in the new sitcom “Man With a Plan.” He plays a contractor who starts spending more time with his three kids when his wife (Liza Snyder) goes back to work. We sense trouble – for him and the show. 8:30 p.m., CBS.
TUESDAY: Break out the peanuts and Cracker Jack, it’s World Series time again. Major League Baseball’s Fall Classic gets underway in the home of the American League champ. 5 p.m., Fox.
WEDNESDAY: “Rectify,” one of television’s best dramas, kicks off its farewell season. Former death-row inmate Daniel Holden (Aden Young) is technically a free man, but that doesn’t mean his new life in Nashville isn’t without complications. 10 p.m., Sundance TV.
WEDNESDAY: “Jon Glaser Loves Gear” is a new “hybrid” comedy series that follows Glaser (“Parks and Recreation”) as he tries to make a reality series about his love of various gadgets. Of course, things repeatedly go wrong. 10 p.m., truTV.
THURSDAY: Joel McHale has a new show. In “The Great Indoors,” he plays a famous adventure reporter for an outdoor magazine who must adapt to the times when he becomes a desk-bound boss to a bunch of millennials. God help him. 8:30 p.m., CBS.
THURSDAY: “Pure Genius” is a mildly interesting new medical series about a Silicon Valley billionaire (Augustus Prew) who recruits an exceptional surgeon (Dermot Mulroney) to run his state-of-the-art hospital. There, they take on highly challenging cases and argue a lot. 10 p.m., CBS.
FRIDAY: In “Tracey Ullman’s Show,” the hilarious chameleon-like performer returns for more sketch comedy in which she lampoons people like Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and Angela Merkel. We dare you not to laugh. 11 p.m., HBO.
SATURDAY: In the new TV film “The Night Before Halloween,” a fright-night prank that goes wrong unleashes a creature that is intent on hunting down and killing each of the participants. Our advice: Watch with the lights on. 9 p.m. Syfy.
