Albertsons launches gas rewards program

Grocer Albertsons launched a gas rewards program in Washington, Oregon and North Idaho on Wednesday.

Albertsons shoppers can earn points to save up to $1 per gallon at Safeway gas stations, as well as participating Chevron and Texaco stations.

The program has started at Idaho stores in Coeur d’Alene, Hayden and Lewiston, as well as stores throughout Washington and Oregon

Shoppers can enroll by downloading an Albertsons app or visiting albertsons.com for information.

The grocery company, founded and based in Boise, is owned by Cerberus Capital Management. Safeway Inc., acquired in January 2015, is a subsidiary of Albertsons.
