2. Schweitzer Fall Fest 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Schweitzer Mountain Resort, 10000 Schweitzer Mountain Road, Sandpoint. Three days of free live music with eight bands, along with several regional wines, hard ciders and more than 60 regional microbrews on tap. Tasting prices range from $12 to $35, and are available in advance from eventbrite.com. Kids can visit the soda tent and mix their own flavors. Third Ave. A deeply religious black ex-con thwarts the suicide attempt of an asocial white college professor.
