Mountain View rolls over Ferris at Albi Stadium

Darien Chase had five catches for 169 yards with two touchdowns – and returned an interception 41 yards for another score – and Mountain View (Vancouver, Washington) rolled over Ferris 32-13 in nonleague football at Albi Stadium on Saturday.

The Thunder led 6-0 at intermission on Chase’s 54-yard touchdown catch from Andre Scheer (9 of 16, 179 yards, two TDs).

Ferris took a 7-6 lead in the third quarter as Logan Bunker hooked up with Eric Mast for a 17-yard touchdown pass.

Mountain View responded with Chase’s second TD, a 33-yard reception. On the ensuing possession, Chase picked off Braden Brock’s only attempt of the day and returned it for a score.

Mast’s second touchdown of the day, a 1-yard run early in the fourth quarter, made it 18-13. Mountain view replied, with Glen Perry (119 yards rushing) and Scheer carrying for short touchdown runs.

Bunker was 9 of 23 for 102 yards and rushed for 102 yards.

Ferris travels to Arvada, Colorado, next week to face Ralston Valley.
