Raiders release Pro Bowl FB Marcel Reece

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have released Pro Bowl fullback Marcel Reece after his four-game suspension for performance enhancing drugs was completed.

Reece sat out the final game of 2015 and the first three games this season because of the suspension. He was eligible to be added back to the 53-man roster Monday, but the Raiders cut him instead with Jamize Olawale having filled the role of starting fullback.

Reece was selected to his fourth Pro Bowl last season before the suspension came down. In eight seasons, he had 205 receptions for 2,015 yards with 12 touchdowns. He also ran for 844 yards on 183 carries with three touchdowns.

General manager Reggie McKenzie called it a tough decision and praised Reece for his commitment to the organization.
